I bought it from a gunnnutz member. He used to live on the east coast of Canada
& bought it about ten years ago. The story is it has been in Canada since the late 60's. This member had quite the colletion at one point. No import marks of any kind.

See, that wasn't hard to do. The Canadians get alot of good stuff, much better than we can get. The dark stuff in the handguard is what the Russians used for floating the barrel, it's like a wax paper or felt. I just read about that today over on gunboards. No import mark is a plus. The Rguns snipers have a lot of variations never seen before ,so nothing is a surprise anymore. One guy got a PU sniper that had been also drilled for a PEM sidemount.

I just compared my rifle to the one on the MKL
& interestingly enough, that rifle has some # stamped on the butt too. Also noticed the scope covers have the same pattern in the strap. I wonder if my rifle was refurbed & scrubbed because it was destined to be military aid to a country the soviets didn't want to be seen helping?
