M1917 Remington USMC issued..
while rebarreling a customers rifle, i noticed some signs of USMC use, and a first on a 1917 for me.
shows use of a pipe type clamp used on ships, and a sign of USMC rebarrel on 1903,s also, P and X stamped on the left side, said rifle is a Remington, sorry wont post serial # as its not my rifle.Attachment 16814Attachment 16812Attachment 16813

Believe they kept them in inventory into the 1920's?

no, like many of the ones rebarreld it had a Winchester marked barrel, another note, barrel wasnt very tight, could have removed it with gloved hands...
have seen a few 03,s like this, but never a 17, most of them seemed to have had a Gorilla install them.
