Trigger Housing Hammer Strike Pic Needed
Example needed for fellow member,
Would anyone happen to have a picture of a trigger housing showing a comparison to the Dog Leg Hammer strike VS. a Type III Straight hammer strike?
1 housing showing both types of strikes or 2 housings showing Dogleg strike vs. straight hammer strike.
TIA,
Charlie-painter777

D-Fink,
I'm having trouble seeing 2 strikes in your picture.
I know the.....
Dog leg hammer strike will be the far forward strike...
Type III straight hammer strike will be closer to the back.
Just trying to help a forum member.
Thx,
FWIW,
Charlie

Charlie:
I Haven't answered your PM's yet, but just saw the posting with the picture. The one on my S'G' looks farther forward than that - measures about 7/16" from the centerline of the trigger pin to the center of the mark. The pictured mark must be from the straight type hammer. Thanks everyone!
Bob
Oops! I just saw the small caption for Dave's picture, "this is both." Dave's mark is a bit wider than mine, so there must only be a 1/16" or so difference in where the two types of hammers strike?

Whats that ole saying..... Even a blind squirrel finds a nut now and then..
Thanks to D. Fink for the original picture and USGI-Collector Dave for the illustration.
I can now see the 2 raised ridges from the strikes of 2 different hammers.

Great pics Fink !
That 2nd from left housing makes a nice example of how the hole is oblong shaped on a WRA housing. Where the trigger arm meets the safety.
I'm always surprised at how rough the milling is on WRA parts. You guys have been a big help. You've safed me from digging out the farthest carbine in the safe.
This all came about from a fellow member reading a old post from me when I was IDing my S'G' 1,823,135. The trigger housing on it has only the type III hammer strike but has a 22 coil spring. Hammer is a SG type III. Stu had one close to it in nearly the same configuration. IIRC his also had a type III SG marked hammer with no sign of a Dog leg strike.
Hey JimF4M1s
.... this is the table in the basement, that's how I get away with it !
Thx Again Guys,

Charlie,
I know that, but my wife won't. When I show her the pictures of the S'G' stock, I can tell her it's Ok for me to use her oak table. We'll see how that one goes.
