3-44 barrel date
Picked up an Inland parts kit today with a 3/44 dated barrel (minus receiver). What receiver serial number range from Inland would be correct for this date?

Inland 3 million range I think. The cool thing about carbines is that because there was a bit of "legitimate" parts "mixing" by the original manufacturers, you aren't limited to an Inland receiver to "restore" your Inland barrel. I have a Quality Hardware carbine with a correct 3/44-dated Inland barrel (QHMC didn't make their own barrels). Other carbine makers also used Inland barrels. You have many options to restore your barrel.

Early 5 mil.
I have a 5.05 with a 2-44 and a 5.13 3-44 and a 5.16 with a 4-44
In away you are limited by your barrel. Each maker used a distinct proof mark on the barrel when they proof fired before final exceptance by the gov. If you could post pics we can tell you what it was originally on. On the other hand as CrossedCannons pointed out Inland barrels are correct on other makers carbines so if you just want it to look correct.
I'm not 100% sure who was still getting who's barrels that late in production, but the other choices are QHMC, NPM, and Standard Products.

Is the P proof stamp in same place on all Inland barrels even those used by QHMC and any other manufacturer that install Inland barrels on their receiver? Was the barrel proof stamp done by the manufacturer of the barrel or the manufacturer of the carbine?

Good call Hercules. It's been a while so I just pulled it out of the safe to look. My barrel does have a second P about an inch forward of the gas cylinder in addition to Inland's P up front. I still haven't filled out a datasheet for this thing. Next year. But thanks for the clarification!
To the OP, there's really alot to learn about these things. Check your barrel carefully and learn all its markings. Then you'll better understand your options.

Most inland barrels from early '43 to early'44 had two P's and a punch mark near the chamber.
A QHMC will likely have the Inland proof P and will have large looped QHMC P. There is more to the story and it was discussed here a while back. I'll use the new google search and see if I can find it.

1) The proof marks will not be in the same place.
2) The proof marks were put on by both the barrel manufacturer and the manufacturer that used the barrel. Initially the requirement was for all barrels to be proof fired by the actual barrel manufacturer. That requirement was later changed to only requiring a percentage of barrels in a shipment to be proof fired. That's why you will see some barrels with two proof marks and others with only one. As stated earlier each manufacturer had a different size/style proof mark. Some manufacturers had several styles used during various time frames. (That's one reason most restorations are easy to spot, if you know what to look for.)

The parts kit came with a trashed Inland receiver, serial # not distinguishable. Thats why I'm looking for a serial # range for Inland. It was a substantially original carbine, only rear sight and barrel band were replaced.
Parts breakdown:
3/44 Inland barrel- BI on gas cyl.
t-1 front sight N marked
t-3 trigger housing vert. logo
t-3 hammer (blued)
t-1 sear (blued)
t-2 trigger RI marked (blued)
t-3 safety unmarked
t-3 mag catch EI and M marked (blued)
t-5 slide PI marked
t-3 bolt AI marked, blued ( firing pin- NI, extractor-WI)
t-3 recoil plate DI marked
T-3 stock w/ordnance mark and IO in sling well
t-3 handguard HI marked
REPLACED PARTS:
t-2 rear sight SA marked w/ordnance wheel on left side
t-3 barrel band SA marked on right side

I'm just calling it a "kit" because the receiver is trashed. Bought it for the parts, hence the "kit",
