Haven't been around for a while, but I also have a Byf43, which has different font on action # to the rest of the rifle #'s.

The #3 is different, just like on yours.

I'm going to try this refinishing method on my k98. It's a rc and the shellac is starting to flake off. Yours looks really good, hope mine turns out very similar to yours. Job well done!
