Sorry man, no cure as yet! Only thing known to help ease the pain is more carbines!

I think this one will become an M1A1icon (with a repro stock since it is an import!). This will make 3 carbines: DCM Inland mid-war (all correct except Type III sight and band), Saginaw mid-war with repro Type I band and sight from Nick Dailey, and an IBM mix-master M1A1. I have tons of magazines, but ow I need more ammo.

Oh well, outbid on the import IBM. That's OK, two carbines will keep equilibrium within the same: two of each caliber.

I've picked up a couple of imports lately....both by cai, alb, vt (tiny letters)...one a Win w/Rock barrel, other a S'G'. Turned down a really nice NPM yesterday because of its HUGH Blue Sky stamp on the side up near the sight, and the gent wanted $600 for it. Again, all parts other than correct rcvr/Underwood barrel were mixed. Same gent had a nice Israeli "IAI" and wanted $500 for it...turned it down too.

My Underwood I had was a CAI import, and it was a former Mash 'Az Civil Defense weapon. It was awesome.

I feel your pain! My Rock Ola needed company, and so far, it's got 4 brothers-in-arms to keep it company, and I'm building parts for a Saginaw S'G' barreled receiver I got a month or so ago. These in about 16 months time.

It's a disease. Too bad I didn't catch it earlier when the prices were lower for them.

But, on a positive note, the investment I've made in carbines is doing a lot better than my 401-K is.

Still waiting for my Saginaw Barreled receiver to come. (FFL paper snafu, but fixed now). I did find out it is from a CMPicon rack grade that was parted out. It's a Saginaw, Serial number 5,861,251, with an undated IBM barrel. Probably a replacement barrel, I realize, but it will be a mixmaster of mid-war parts. ME of 3 or less.

Here's a little advice. If you have two, put them together in a closet with the light off. Soon you will have three. Then there will be five. It is almost magic. Since they all look alike, you can have ten before the wife knows there are more than two. But take no more than two out at a time. Or you'll get caught.

Been there, done that I have owned 60+ carbines over the years. I have bought one for just one part before. Stripped the part or parts off then resold it. I have been into carbines a lot of years. I don't get near as excited when I see one walk into a gunshow as I used to. As they say time heals all wounds. You will get over it in time. I don't think I have bought one in almost 10 years, but I have not sold any either.
