I ask Jim F. If he doesn't know I figure it'd be too far over my head to understand anyway!
(Besides, his answers are usually explained in more than two words so I can understand what he means at my novice level)

I know more about slot cars then carbines. But then I have been running my cars since 1966 and only into carbines since about 1975.
Some people are just easier to talk to then others. But I would go to the person I thought most knowledgeable on what help I needed.
There are guys who really know their stuff about original parts, markings, or transition times. Others who know wood work, And still others on web gear or accessories.
Time invested whether it be by reading or hands on is time well spent. You will not always find the answer in a book. That's when you ask someone. Too many people ask first instead of at least trying to figure it out on their own. When something has stumped you, then you figure it out, it is a gratifying feeling. If that fails, throw up the white flag and ask for help.

The more I learn about carbines the more I realize I do not know. I get stumped lots of times but have a good resource of guys that seem to know more about certain manufacturers than others. Have also learned there is a exception to the rules sometimes. I only know what I have found and reported. There is some very deep knowledge at the CC. Contribute and you will learn in the process. I enjoy my herd. Still looking for the bull. (Commercial Control carbine)

Good luck on that one. You know, when there is a bull, there is bull$hit. Don't step in it.

I got to say that you all are right. I honestly enjoy the good company and the helpful attitudes. As far as me learning? I just hope that one of you guys are planning to leave me all your notes and your brain in your last will and testiment (cause thats the only way I am going to ever learn all this stuff!!!).

Jim,
He has Winchester EXP A, one of two. EXP B is in War Baby. Three groove barrel and all. Is that not worth a trip East? He'll even do a little night hog hunting with you if you like. But stay out of the Jeep.
