We're e pretty good melting pot for sure. Doug is Canadian, so I it's a Canadian 'owned' site, but not exactly Canadian 'based'. The big servers that run things so well are near me in Texas.
Bob, Niel and I am from the southern US.
Bill is from CA so I'm not certain what country he's associated with, if any.
(Better stop there before this edges into political discussion)

Been after a .30-cal Maxim of any type for my M1903A4 - I'd guess that a repro would be more of a realistic version to look for - & I've even considered having one made (& YES, I AM authorised to own such an item here in the UK
)
It'd need to be a working Maxim though, as I plan to use it on my Springfield

Unless you fire sub-sonic ammo, a silencer is of little benefit. It's the sonic crack that generates the most noise. At our old shooting range we had a berm to get behind which was about 150 feet perpendicular to the 200 yard range. In this way we could pull targets without walking the 200 yards each time. At this location you never heard the report of the rifle, just the sonic crack echoing off everything. It was impossible to tell where the actual firing was done. In a .22 the sub-sonic ammo is no problem, but not easy to load down .308 and such to sub-sonic.

I don't know of a current centerfire rifle rated Maxim type can, Yankee Hill's are all rf or pistol- up to .45 caliber. IF you keep your rounds sub-sonic, there's no reason why they wouldn't work. But I reckon it would not last ANY length of time if a full bore round got mixed in.
I LIKE supressors on full power rifles as it keeps the noise down to .22 WRFM levels or less for most non-magnum loads. We just can't hunt with them in this state. Too bad- I absolutely won't wear hearing protection whilst stalking.
Maybe soon, though! A link to a "maxim" page for YHM:

Yes , same here. I looked for a matching real maxim in the US for years with no luck. The new updated laws here make constant rebuilding almost impossible for the adverage Joe . The orig. Maxim had to be regutted every 100 rds or so for max performance while the modern gutted repro is good for thousands before you have to worry. My major problem here was the offset design and the 9/16 SAE threads . I found most of the "manufacturers " here could not build offset nor even figure out what a 9/16 SAE was. Wanted to cut my bbl to 1/2-28....no way.
The WW2 suppressed '03s used the suppressor to hide thier location , not for total stelth , as the sonic crack is not hidden. Even the M65 with normal high speed solids sounds un-suppressed due to the sonic boom. You fire one shot running along the telephone pole line , and it's like a MG cutting off a burst , as each pole echos back it's sonic boom echo. I've seen only one pic of a WW2 suppressed '03 in combat , and IIRC , it looked almost like my M65 on the front.

Yeah, I know....or thought the same until I was at the range & a couple of deer stalkers were using moderated rifles.
Have had a moderator on my 223 for about 4 years now & it makes a HUGE difference in that I can use the rifle without the need for hearing protection...and this reason is why a lot of European countries freely allow moderators - they're looking at preventing future legal action for hearing damage.
My 223 uses full power military issue ammo & the noise from the user end of the rifle is nothing like a regular gun noise - more of a "Twang" than a "Bang"
One of the outdoor ranges I shoot at has an awkward neighbour & as a result they insist that rifles used are moderated - OR, if they aren't you have to have the muzzle inside a hollowed out water butt that is lined with thick foam to deaden the noise.
That aside, still very keen to get an off-set Maxim for my '03 - for both full power & maybe also subsonic ammo
