    Attachment 27080CMPicon Garands are great!
    Prepare for the unpacking.

My first SA service grade is one of my favorites... had an LMR re-barrel and a cleaning kit in the butt stock
Then came the Danishicon SG, which has a VAR barrell and found a paper written in Danish listing the site clicks for given yardages.
Then I ordered (2) correct grades (SA and H&R) that are so new I've never even shot them.
Followed by the Winchester SG that is an absolute tack driver.
And of course, my current favorite, I was lucky to buy one of the few SG IHC's.
That one came with an LMR barrel that was correct for that serial number... and about 80% correct IHC parts. Despite the rarity of the tractor gun I shoot it alot because it just feels right and is sooo accurate.
And I'm not going to go into all of the '03's....
Enjoy your CMP Garandicon and have fun.
But be careful because it can become an addiction

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. I just received my Service Grade Special.

    Here is the timeline:

    09/13/11 - Paperwork mailed
09/15/11 - Paperwork received by CMPicon
09/16/11 - email received from CMP
    09/20/11 - order entered into E-Store
09/21/11 - FedEx shipping notice received
    09/21/11 - E-Store updated - Serial #: 58xxxxx
    09/22/11 - Rifle received at 9:40AM

The gun was in very nice shape TE 1+ ME 2+. Metal was I bit more worn than I expected, but it is not bad. The wear appears to be from handling, not actual use. This may be a case of my expectations being "off". I don't think this gun has been anything but test fired. Overall, I am very happy with what I received. How else can one procure such a significant piece of history in such shape at a reasonable cost.

One thing that you should expect to do is field strip the gun and lube it. My gun was very dry.
