My first two M1icon Carbines?
Hi All,
Just found the site and will have plenty of questions. Collecting and shooting very limited for 15 years now (Garands, 1911s). Recently acquired my first two M1
Carbines, and why I waited 40 years is a mystery since I love the carbine.
First was an import (micro Arlington Arms on the barrel underside), arsenal rebuilt UEF, 2.37 which I believe was Sep. '44 production. Great metal (Re-Parkerized) and bore and a tack driver on the range. New Boyd stock (w/ many coats of hand rubbed BLO
) to replace the POS Potbelly. She's a beauty.
Second is a NPM, 1.95 (Sep. '43) with all early features to include a nice NPM/FJA high wood stock. “Marlin” barrel, great Parkerizing, and most parts are matching. However when I got it home and apart, I found out it’s an early Century Arms Import (hand scribed markings on the receiver under the stock). Bottom line, in my opinion, still a very original early features Carbine… import or not.
Comments?
Pictures to follow.
Cheers...

Healey,
Welcome, and glad you found our forum.
We have a search feature above in the tool bar that could have answers to some of your questions. And or you can ask them.
We also like to see pictures. Yours did not display. Up in the sticky threads at the top of the section we have a good tutorial on how to post pictures. How do I show pics from Photobucket, Flickr, ImageShack etc. on milsurps.com?
I see you are in SoCal, I am up north between SF and Sacramento.
Looking forward to your pictures and participation in the forum.
Jim
