The whole thing is a big "Run away!"
Unless it's priced as a shooter and not a collector. But what happened to the middle pad screw???
Maybe that's what the "R" prefix in the serial number stands for.
At least they aren't duplicating "real" numbers. That's very thoughtful.

Scope is a repro.... Locking rings are Mk.1 and II, plus the lock rings are brass on the one shown and are steel on "the real McCoy".
Mount is also repro and bases appear to be the Israeli ones SARCO sold with a pin hole just to the right of the middle hole in the front base. Front base is a fair bit to the rear to be kosher as well.
I could go on and on ad nauseum but think this is enough to quality it as a total repro set up.
Ring screws are much to proud and it looks like one of the Indian made mounts. The Chinese mounts are much better quality and better finished.
Usually the easiest way to determine a repro scope at a quick glance is the range and deflection indicator.......a triangle on the real thing and a line on the repro's......ALL of the repro makers use just a line.

Listen to those voices above K31
and let me add something else................ Based on my very limited experience with the real McCoy and even less experience with these cheap crap fakes, it's not even a shooter. Have you ever heard the phrase '.............AVOID IT LIKE THE PLAGUE'?

hi,
thanks for your replies.
I also believed it was a fake. A Mk3 with Mk1 deflection drum....
A guy called me this morning to offer me that fake.
Very strange for me.
the "TR" is too large and the "T" is not the good font you can find on the real Mc Coy

At least in this case the serial number is above what the actual production numbers would have been.
But I have to say I still don't like the fact that these scopes, which are sold via reputable dealers in many cases, have markings which could be taken by the unwary and uninformed as genuine, and lead to an expensive mistake.

Which is why I would define these sights as fakes not reproductions. Those markings have been applied with one objective - to deceive.

Perhaps the manfacturer would argue that the intent is to "capture the spirit". Which they have done. Having been looking at some of the Colt SAA and cap and ball clones lately, if there was a serious intent to deceive we would be having a much more difficult time of it. If anyone ever starts cloning No.4 rifles for the re-enactors then a concerted effort on cloning the sniper version will surely follow. (Personally, I'd think a new action body with integral pads would be a hoot!)
ETA: Evil fake Henry:

One of the original "assualt rifles" and thrown essentially untested into combat.
Got it for 100 times less than original! Artificially aged from the factory, even. But new bore, accurate, and buckets o' fun.
