Definitely an M1
and an MP40 in that picture. What is really interesting is the Brodie helmets and what appears to be a Battle Dress uniform on the middle bloke and the bloke with the M1 kitted out with an American cartridge belt. I'm wondering if they might have been French
, or more likely Polish. Battle of Monte Cassino
