Thanks a gain for your help guys are really appreciate that. I prefer to buy parts locally but if I can not find them I will try here for sure. Speaking of locally parts I just traded the British magazine that comes with my rifle for a Savage one in very good shape and the color match perfectly, here are some pics of the mag.

Sarco have savage sets for $175. I just restored one in similar condition, the set I received was not entirely matching, the handguards were way darker. But some persistence on ebay paid off and now she looks a peach. Shoots awesome too with a mk3 micro site. Your gun will be worth the effort the finish looks good.

For what it's worth Buster, my opinion is that if you go out of your way to make sure that every part is Savage, so that it'll be 'original', then you're only fooling one person. Yourself. Because it ain't 'original', simply because bacause you've made it what it is. Once your rifle and every other(?) battle rifle in the world lost its factory originality the day it was sent from Ordnance to the unit.

I know Peter, but if I have the choice between a Savage part and a non Savage I will use it, if not I will probably use any parts, it's not a problem for me.

One of the better guns I have seen. I would restore this, if you dont feel like it Im sure you would be able to find someone who would.
