Need to vent about week end gun show
This week end gun show was pretty good. Lots of people out an about. Some money was made by most but was slow. Just need to ask what you would do in this situation. Before show opened had a dealer unknown to me ask for price on a Springfield smith corona bolt 80% good condition, a set of s&w victory grips 60% good, an new front sight got Springfield 03. total on tags was 150.00 I asked 125.00. he countered with 100.00 before I could answer back he said fn to high an threw the bolt on table. I had to walk away. Been bothering me since was i to high or was he just stupid to be kind. I always tell dealers to let me know if its for their own use or resale so i can work with them, I feel better now off my chest, Thanks Guys

To me it doesn't matter if your too high or not, the fact is there is no reason for him to act so immaturely. Either take it at offered price or don't, no need to be a child about it. In particular I would be angry about him throwing my property on the table as it isn't his, so treat it with respect.

That is my biggest grip I guess the disrespect. I know that ever show as a few leeches waiting to get that jump an make big money. I do not sell alot of firearms. 80% of my tables are parts pieces an such.

The whole idea is to deal... We have one coming this weekend, I expect the same flurry of low bidding from dealers before the doors open. I'd just as soon wait for the customers. These guys WILL low bid you and then run the price sky high.
That's their business and you've made money...but I'd rather wait. Then maybe you'll get what you had on the tag. Maybe just a bit of a dip...but not a dive.

Jim I agree with you. I do not mine working with a dealer for a part to fix something or make it better. But when they buy off you an them triple price so that no one can buy that’s wrong. Every show I get lots of request for extractors ejectors sights for Mauser ,Springfield, Krag
, tell them they sold out Friday night.

The parts guys have a license to make money. I'd just wait for the customers...you know who the hackers are. I think I'll wait for the customers this coming show. I have a couple things that they might like. I'm tired of dealers trying to pay about half of an already fair price. Yes, that's why we're there but let's be real.

Gun Collecting, Gun Tinkering, and Shooting are my hobbies. I share a Table with my Buddy a couple times a year. We do it to socialize, learn, clean out clutter and hopefully get some new clutter.
The Goal is to stay in the Hobby, make a little money to pay Table cost, pick up something to improve collection or knowledge, and be a resource to fellow collectors.
I'm retired and having fun. I'm the custodian of a bunch of guns and stuff. When I no longer particularly use or enjoy something, I like it to go to a good home. I want to recoup my investment and stay involved, but, I also enjoy helping a fellow collector. I don't need to make an exorbitant profit. There are a lot of decent people at Gun Shows. The are also a lot of people who need lessons in civility, manners, history, Gun Handling & Safety!

Had a great gun show this weekend. My highlight was at the end of it, I had sold all my guns except for 2 when I spotted a old vet and his wife standing at my table and they were not leaving. Going over they expressed interest in a No 1 Mk 3 that I had for sale. I let the old gal beat me down another $50.00 after he said he would take it. I think that they both left happy.
