W.W. Greener Martini action .22
Recently, a friend of mine came into possession of a lovely single shot .22. Unfortunately I don't have pictures, but it's an uncut military stocked Martini action in excellent condition. It has not got the tang mounted peep sight nor does it have the holes drilled for one. It has the standard barrel mounted rear ladder sight. It's clearly stamped W.W. Greener and the bore is very good. He paid $300. (CDN) for it, and asked me my opinion. I felt he got a good deal, but does anyone know current market value for such a beast? Thanks in advance.

Not enough of them about to generate market statistics for a "market value". But if it is in good condition and un-Bubba-ed that sounds like a fair, even favorable price.
Oops, sorry, just looked up the value of the CN$ in euros. Make that a very favorable price.

Yes, you don't see many pop up for sale in Canada
. But by the sounds of the condition, I'd say he did quite well. I would have paid that with no problem.

I had thought I seen one posted on CGN over the last year, but I cannot recall the asking price, and I am not 100% sure it was a Greener either. However I would have paid that for a unmolested, working model without much thought to it.

Most .22 Martinis I have seen for sale in Canada
are about 600$ on the low end. As mentioned you don't see them too often, and it is hard to keep track of the price as people buy them as soon as they come up.
Overall I would say he did pretty good.

Actually I think there was a Greener Martini posted on CGN a few months ago. I don't think it lasted that long and if memory serves me correctly, I think it was somewhere around $900.00-$1000.00.

Thank you all for your input. I thought he'd done really well in his purchase, but I wasn't familiar enough with those rifles in particular. Given that the overall condition was so good (ie; nice mostly intact blueing, un-buggered screw heads, clear stampings, very good wood, etc.) it looked really good to me. I'll pass on the info you've all provided.

Well one with a pitted bore, but otherwise VG condition came up for sale, at 695+shipping and taxes at one store.
He definitely did well

Is it the large (450) size or the small cadet action?
Greener made the small action in 22 and converted the large action to 22.
