Well, a 700 Remington stock has a high front end and then the recoil lug is bedded into the stock. The rest is just the receiver sitting in the stock. I had a 700 BDL
deluxe and there was no bedding except for that. Others too. The bedding compound is a special addition.

A bedding block is different from a through bolt on a military rifle. Through bolts are not used on civilian stocks.

Yes, that was what I was assuming he was asking since it is a former military rifle that had one. I haven't seen them on any civilian stocks, not saying they don't make them but interior bedding is all I've ever seen.
