M132 aka "Zippo" track in Viet Nam, this one with the 11th ACR. A small cupola in the center of the hull mounted an M10-8 flame gun with a coaxial 7.62 mm caliber M73 machine gun, neither of which possessed a sterling reputation for reliability. A bit of burning rag on the end of a coat hanger backed up the troublesome igniters. Two hundred gallons of napalm was good for about 30 seconds with a range of about 200 meters. Crews were loathe to pressurize the system until just before use.

I can't imagine what he'd be doing except to be looking into the entrance. Yes, a grenade is better but perhaps there's a reason not to. Still, he appears to be one that knows what he's doing, I'm not sure I'd cross him...finger on the trigger...
