Why so close?
It's about as well as I can see with iron sights now a days.

also whats the consensus on the marlin bbl? i read a lot of diff. stuff on it such as if it is after 1950? its a good accurate one and that they made a very limited number of em. anything else? thanks
also #2....on the pics i tried to make the serial #s visible. any opinions on who made em and when etc etc
By serial, when the WWII era rifles were made. If Post WWII HRA, IHC, or Springfield there's no know data by month.
