Morning,
There are oodles of suppliers in the States if you google buttstock or recoil spring L1A1 as its known you'll see what I mean.
I attach a schematic for you
Good luck.

You'll need the special too too. Can be done......, but it's a bit of a PITA without the tool!

Don’t judge, Gil. It’s 2019 after all.

Never judge.............just take the pee, which Peter and I do all the time as ex Airborne men do as we have to get used to it, as jumping out of fully serviceable planes is something you have to get over in life

You must admit he’d probably look fetching in a too too. I think he’s got the legs for it.
Sorry, back to the L1A1.

Thank you. I picked some up. I have taken the springs out on one of my FALs over the years by making the tool from a long screwdriver.

I've use a home made and commercial too too and it definitely saves one from getting a boo boo. ;-)

Been said before, but trying to get the springs back in without the tool has been likened to trying to push wet spaghetti up a rabid cats arse....
In fairness, I have tried the home made approach, but it's much (repeat much) easier to buy the tool.....
Life's hard enough without the right tools gents...
