The Smiell of Cosmoline is in the Air
Just curios as to what everyone's doing to pass the time while in lock down.
I received a package today with three AK-47 magazines which are covered in cosmoline
. All I did was take them out of the plastic bags, carry them inside and partially wipe one off and I now smell of cosmoline after washing my hands with soap and water for the 20 seconds twice. Need to take them outside and finish up.

I've been working on my "photo studio" for my resell shots. I want to come out of this mess with a more professional (looking) setup!
We're still rolling at my day job but things are starting to slow down. I hope to have a lot to keep me busy with my side job once the time comes for us to close our doors.

THAT'S why I have surgical gloves on hand and have for years. Not because of this current unpleasantness...I hate that smell sticking to me. I'll set up a 100 oz can on a mountain stove and boil a magazine until it's done outside.
I have a Remington 552 and a Henry .22 to clean today. Four days a week I take my wife to work in healthcare...is my usual outing. Pick her up at work's end...

I just received a shipment of surplus 7.62x25mm ammo in. Its the first time I have purchased from this vendor and wanted to see how it would go buying from them. It was a fast and easy sale. Ammo came quickly I was a little disappointed the labels were split, but that's what happens in shipping when you order loose boxes.
The ammo came on stripper clips which is cool, just don't know how I will utilize them. Ammo seems in good condition. Can't wait to test them.

I’m thinking about new “recipes” for my 30-06.
Only problem is...when will I be able to try them?

I'm working on an 03a3 for re-barrel and turning a Mk 2 fore-end into one that mimics one for a no 4.
Just getting some old rifles the way they once were or as close as I can get to fool myself and feel good about what I'm doing.

I found rubber gloves. The wife or maybe I have a massive box of them under the sink. I probably did buy them for something or other years ago and forgot they were there. Got some paint thinner and an old toothbrush and made short order of the cosmoline
. Discovered today that 30 round AK magazines actually hold 31 rounds but I backed the 1 out so as to not make them too tight. I need another project.

The business I manage is still operating and selling, but as we export to the US mainly, it's getting more difficult to operate as state after state go into lockdown and UK
shippers have totally ceased operations for the time being.
After that it's settle into Netflix, watch season 3 of Ozark and catch up with "Better call Sol", clean the rifles, do a bit of outstanding bedding work, do a bit of gardening and DIY and wait for the storm to pass.
