Help identifying what these patches mean
i recently have been interested in visiting army surplus stores and finding cool things i bought this cvc us army jacket and it has this Velcro hole in the back and from what i found online its called a "extraction strap" or "retrieval strap opening" what do you think the purpose is?. the second jacket i dont know what the patches mean i googled and couldn't find anything. i want to know when the cvc jacket was used, can i use the numbers on the tag to find out? the numbers i found are DLA 100-91-C-0310 and Stock Number: 8415-01-074-9420 sorry about all the questions im just really new

That's exactly what it means. You take hold of the strap to lift what's inside out of where it was. Dead, injured, wounded removed from vehicle/boat/etc. Especially when whatever is inside the clothing can't assist, or more gory.

Issued to armored crew members. Used for pulling injured/unconscious crew out of tanks/armored vehicles.
Almost the same as a flight jacket except for the strap. In fact, we as flight crew were issued the “tanker” jacket when stocks of the flight jacket wasn’t available.
We’re talking US Army aviators, not Air Force.
For a while, the original 2 piece flight suit was also issued as tankers uniforms. 1980s

No they aren't, those are for extracting wounded from situations when they can't help. You use them to drag a man across the open or haul him vertical right out of an armored hatch. You sound like a surplus store owner that perhaps hears too much rumor from his clients.
