Disgraceful.
Cannot remember the West Au senator D/H that said we should remember the current ADF service personnel and move away from memories of those past ANZAC's. WTF! I think this senator served in the RAN for 20+ years so they should promote & remember what our ANZAC's did and the current ADF does. I think it is bl**dy disgraceful that they should even contemplate not remembering those that went to conflicts far and wide; Boer war, WWI, WWII, Korea, Vietnam, Malayan crisis, Gulf War, Afghanistan and others in between. My father went away for 4 years o/seas in WWII I have ties from my mothers side to the 10th ALH and 25th ALH from WWI. ANZAC day is sacred to me a time to reflect on those that gave it all so we could have it all "Our Freedom". I hope this senator gets roasted by the public on this farcical wish its bl**dy disgusting. On another note good ol Sco Mo saying it was about time to look at the suicides of ADF personnel through a royal commission well f*ck me he is only saying that as there were 400,000 signatures saying one was needed so he is not forced to have it. 10 times more ADF personnel have committed suicide from being deployed into Afghanistan than were actually KIA over there. This govt and past govt's in Australia have left our defence personnel down time and again they feel trapped and unable to assimilate back into civilian life and other factors having witnessed stuff or been involved at the pointy end. The Govt should hang their heads in shame as to the treatment of these fellow Australians get on with the job and put these broken people back together again. Senator Jacqui Lamby (Ex officer ADF) has my vote she calls it as it is and fought long and hard for this royal commission. These other powder puff pollies are to protective of their own positions, benefits and wages, to get up off their arses and save our soldiers shame on you b*stards. Each one of you deserves a white feather in the mail and to be tarred and feathered. I'll be there on the 25th April with my dads medals on my chest remembering all our fallen diggers and current ADF personnel. God bless you all in our ADF for all your sacrifices in keeping us safe throughout the ages and beyond. Picture is from my nephew who was deployed to New Guinea with AFP on ANZAC Day over there at a cemetery for Australian
personnel KIA there repelling the IJA from getting to Moresby then Australia

Sad times Cinders........its catching, we have that here in the UK
to from a fraction of those that should know better, and I am sure they do in the States and Canada
too.
So many people who care not for the sacrifice's made by so many, lay quiet and still in their beds at night, in a democracy hard fought, where they can say and do what they want, whilst angry men do their bidding at great risk to themselves
'Tonight my men and I have been through hell and back again, but the look on your faces when we let you out of the hall - we'd do it all again tomorrow.' Major Chris Keeble's words to Goose Green villagers on 29th May 1982 - 2 PARA

A little while ago I was trying to explain to a member of the younger generation what "National Service" was. I explained that it was compulsory, no ifs or buts, provided you passed the medical. I went on to explain that the only way out of it was to register as a "Conscientious Objector" but it wasn't just a case of saying you were, you had to convince the authorities that you were. I explained that if you refused to do "National Service" you were liable to be arrested and sent to prison. The answer that I got from the " member of the younger generation" was "I would rather go to prison than go in the army and I think there are a lot of people with the same view nowadays.

Sadly that is true and the fact that the government always puts veterans last even though they should be taken care of first in my opinion, it hangs a cloud over military service. Add decades of biased brainwashing in the colleges, and you get the reality we see today
