Mystery 12Ga
I received this today along with some other unwanted ammo from a friend who's inlaw passed away and he wanted a good home for it.
So I ended up with some 310 Super packet with 25 lead projectiled rounds.
A full packet 32 rounds MF 55 MKVII ball and this 12 Ga cartridge which has me baffled.
So it is a paper roll crimp no shot size, head stamp is Eley Kynoch 12 Ga CIANZ it is 46mm long and is stood next to a Win 2 3/4" 12 Ga plastic.
I cannot hear any shot rattling in it but that does not mean there is none but there are no other markings on it, the CIANZ it this a NZ
firm.
I thought it may be a cordite round for starting a tractor, could anyone here help identify this cartridge for me it is very much appreciated by myself.

Old days found they made some very short shotshells. You can still find reference to two inch and inch and three quarters shells in birdshot and others. I can find two references to Eley short shells...

Thanks for that Jim I will wait and see what the CIANZ turns up I did a search for it and ended up in NZ at a church site!
Also picked up this really nice ICIL 12 Ga packet from the net, pretty stoked with it its another area I dabble in.
Some of my packets I brought some 8 years ago could possibly be worth $250/Aud each judging by the current market.
So the result is on the top of this 12 Ga packet it's the "I" that is very faint almost missing on the H/S of the 12 Ga round in Pic # 2 of the round so there you go;
