7.62x45 - vz 52
My Son just picked up a VZ 52 in 7.62x45mm, While we can find a lot of surplus 7.62x45 nothing else seems to exist. Searching the forum I saw that Bruce_in_Oz mentioned that 7.62x45 could be formed from 6.5 x 52 Carcano or 6.5 x 54 MS brass.
Has anyone on the fourm successfully made 7.62x45 from 6.5 x 52 Carcano or 6.5 x 54 MS brass or another brass?
Thanks,
Bill

I don't even know anyone that still has one in 7.62x45. Most that came here were in 7.62x39 and they sold well. Forming cases isn't hard, I did about 600 7.92 Kurz from .308 with no problem. You should be able to do what Bruce_in_Oz says. I'll bet he knows for sure. If you're looking for soft point ammo(?) then just pull FMJ bullets and seat soft points... You could also just rebarrel to 7.62x39...

He found it at a gun show along with 250 rounds of surplus ammunition. She not bad-looking has some age but everything is matching on it.

Can't he get 7.62x45? Searches come up with multiple sites.
Buffalo arms has brass. 7.62X45 Czechoslovakian* Reloadable, Reformed Brass Cases/Boxer Primed
Is he just looking for something to do? The cases he has to use to convert will be as bad to find as the original.

Finding surplus ammo isn't a problem -mostly-. He just wants to load a bunch up for plinking and such.

7,62x45mm
Buffalo Arms 7,62x45 brass is your best choice and less work compared to converting 6,5 Carcano and 6,5 M-S.
At one time early C
zech 7,62x45mm was brass cartridges but very rare to find these days.
I have fired both rifles and like the original Cz 52 best !

I like both calibers in the Cz 52 and even like the Egyptian Rasheed too, but I do not care for the SKS

I've had a few, two or three. Started with an original Russian
back in about '86/'87 before any were in Canada
and ammo was hard to get, they were OK. Strictly a banger. A friend had such poor results with his RVN return that he burned the woodwork and sawed the metal to bits to discard... I always thought the CZ52 was at least better engineered with a removeable mag and the bigger stock made it feel better in hand.
