The grips for those signal pistols wrapped around the metal butt part, in two halves. I wish you'd have mentioned it a couple of years ago. They were still in use and we had plenty of grips. But the little mini-flare replaced them slowly until the 1" signmal cartridges ran out and they were all withdrawn........leaving the Armourers shops with plenty of spares!
I wonder of Skippy....., Skiprat is reading this thread. Are you there Skippy?

I've only had the flare pistol since last fall I think. I got it at the auction from hell when I got my French
M1935 pistol and Patton Sword. That was a costly day.

It looks to me like your holster is for the earlier type of 1" flare pistol WITHOUT the bell mouth. The bell mouth was a base workshop modification to prevent debris from being blasted sideways when it was fired. The theory of that notion has beaten me..........

The pistol has the bell mouth and fits perfectly.

Hello Peter Yep I'm still here ....lurking
we still had the 1"pistol in the armoury up till the 1990's serving with the artillery, but they didn't leave the armoury. We still had the same holster many WW2 dated, all unused and still very pink, the colour of natural veg tan leather they were never stained brown, they go that colour with use, dirt and sunlight,
Most military leatherwork for weapons was supplied in the "pink" without been dyed,
I know John at DS Solutions here in the UK
has a few spare grips and will ship

I did reach out to DS Solutions. They do not have them listed online but am waiting on a reply to my inquiry. Thanks for the possible source.
