Anything of Value Here? (Pics)
I'm new to this forum, and know absolutlely nothing about Springfields, but I happened to pick up a box of old "Gun Stuff" at a sale a few months ago. The lady that I bought the box from was 94 years old, and the stuff was her late husband's who died several years ago. I was just wondering if there was anything good in the lot. I guess the stock has been cut down, but other than that, I know nothing about this stuff. Can you guy's educate me? Anything of value here?
Thanks!

The stock is a cut-down Scant stock from World War II. To be honest, probably of minimum value - maybe $20 or less. The complete bolt is a WWII replacement from Brown and Sharpe - maybe $40-50. The incomplete cocking piece and spring is a M1903A3. The other parts appear to be M1903 sling swivels with a stacking swivel, as well. Maybe $100 worth of "metal" and the amount I mentioned for the stock. On of the swivels may be from a M1917, but not sure, from the angle o the photograph.
I'm not sure what the "lever"-type part is - probably someone else can identify it and if it has any worth.

The scant stock, the ugliest to ever grace an 03 ,IMHO. For pricing you can go to Gunbroker or Auction Arms to see how folks are pricing their stuff. Note the difference between asking price and actual bids.

Thanks Rick!
I have gun in the Krag
section that I need a couple of parts for....... I'm not sure if this is the appropriate place to post this, but if someone has the parts I need, and has a use for these, maybe we could work out a trade. (Rick please edit if this is out of place.)

Good chance the brass is no good. Most likely the primers have mercury compound. NOT reloadable.

The trigger and safety are not what was in the box. Somebody installed the trigger and safety on an 03 and then put the original parts in the boxes.
Trigger and safety worth perhaps $20.00 total, or little less.

Is the brass trash material then ??? There are actually 2 boxes in the picture, only one has a top piece.

The box is worth something. Selling the brass will mean some poor jerk 3 or 4 sales down the line is going to reload that brass. Could well result in a very nasty surprise.
