    Painter.

Stripped her down soaked the metal in var sol until all the old crud was gone. Cleaned her up again with Butch's Bore shine then gave her a coat of Break Free CLP. I tell you what a biatch to get her back together again. My god I spent 1/2 an hour trying to get the hammer and spring back in, then the bolt, jeez what a pain. I'm sure after some practice it'll get easier. Just as much a pain as my Ruger 10/22..

I'm going to put all the part id codes another post there's like 16 I found.

    Thanks again.

    Talking Well ....

...if you took the bolt apart , you now know why everyone buys a bolt tool. On the hammer spring , you do know it goes in from the side of the hammer WITHOUT the notch in it , right ? And the trigger spring tool makes that a snap. And it's easier to assemble the trigger / sear / spring outside the trigger housing , held together with a pin as wide as the trigger , then aligned in the housing , using the real pin to push the short one out.

Nope didn't touch the bolt and don't have a trigger spring tool. Figured it out though and next time should be a breeze.

Crap are you serious? It was a real biatch putting it back in, and no I don't have the tool so it's a risk taking it out, might not be worth breaking the dovetale over. The damage is on the flip sight it's visible in the picture. Was like that when I got it. Looks like punch marks and is on both sides.

reb, I'm sures some of the guys here will give the advice on fixing the rear sight without damage. Did you stake it? If not should be an easy fix, and worth the cost of the right tool. IMHO.....Frank

Rub it in why don't you I got the carbine with the sight off. I put it in without checking a manual. I figured you're supposed to look through the cupped side instead of the flat side. My bad
