Garand value question

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!

Awhile back I wrote about this pawn shop rifle I picked up about 4 months ago. I'm trying to establish the approximate value of it.
It is a 6 digit SA with a 8-42 marked barrel in what appears to be factory original condition with all correct parts per Duff's blue book (correct drawing numbers, short fork follower, un-cut -3 op rod, single slot gas plug etc.). Stock is marked EMcF. The only thing "incorrect' is the Type II lock bar sights, which the book says should be Type I. However, the installed sights match the rifle's finish. The bore is shiney. Gauges a MW of 3.5 and TE 3.0. There was still some comsmoline between the barrel and gas cylinder, which I left alone. I did replace the yellow grease pot as the original had the lid broken by the take down tool.

Its a bit of a drama valuing the rifle w/o getting close up and actually examining all the parts. Especially a WWII Garand. Details are everything w/ these.

The stacking swivel is installed backwards. That would not have been done at any USGI facility.

Thanks to Neal, who re-sized and posted my pics, and Badger, for the links.
Serial on this piece is 825867. I know valueing a rifle from pics is tough and subject to alot of variables. I'm just trying for a ball park $ amount for insurance purposes.
And nice attention to detail Latigo. I just ran downstairs and kicked myself for not noticing that stacking swivel myself. I've switched it around to the "correct" position. I can see some very slight buggering to the screw head and some small wear marks in the stacking swivel where it contacted the corners of the swivel mount in the reversed position for many years. I wonder what prompted the original switch out? The sling, which was on the rifle when I bought it, is marked "Hoyt 1918".

never say never. We were at war and something so small (which had no effect on the actual function of the rifle) would not be cause for a rejection. Falls into the same realm IMHO as catouches having to be 'perfect' and never applied sideways/upside down/ reversed etc.
