Hello, I just picked this up at an estate sale and have tried all morning, I hope the pictures make it to the forum. As best as i can tell it is close to a 1866 Allin 2nd conversion carbine, but I am running into conflicting info.
Gun is in poor shape but mechanism still functions. says 1864 on lockplate, no serial numbers, says 1866 on bolt mechanism and also has a stamp below the 1866. Found a small "D" located under the barrel part of hinge.

Rifle looks unaltered, and all parts and pieces seem to match. Stock is solid, some small cracks. Missing swivel in front of trigger guard and has one added screw holding on the hammer, all other hardware looks original. Barrel is 22 inches from muzzle to breech block, overall gun is about 41 inches at longest points. Ideas of value for its "poor" condition yet it is a carbine perhaps.

Any help appreciated and I am prepared to answer any questions. thanks in advance!
