So I'm walking around in some back room at my grandma's house and I spy a crusty old rifle in a corner. It's a Type 99, series 33 Toyo Kogyo, ground mum, adjustable but no AA sights, no monopod or attachment, no dust cover. Didn't even know Arisakas existed a week ago, now I sound like a collector . It's also been converted to .30-06.

It is however missing the bolt and the things that attach to the bolt (safety, extractor, firing pin, etc). I'm hoping we'll find the bolt somewhere. If we don't... will any complete bolt assembly I find on GunBroker do? I see some listed as "late series".... 33 is a late series, yes?

Other miscellaneous questions... why are the numbers (serial number, sight numbers) in Western numbering instead of Japaneseicon? And what are the sights numbered in - km or miles?
