I have a Remington 03A3 that was previously "bubba'd" and returned to general military configuration by me many years ago. The reciever on this rifle was relieved for a scope bent bolt (not 03A4) and fitted to a nice Keystone C stock when I got it. Unfortunately the stock was relieved for the bolt also. This rifle shoots very well with ammo it likes, but will never be worth much except as a shooter.
I now have another better condition SC 03A3 action that I am building into a mil-spec rifle with a new 2-groove barrel for Garandtype match competition. It won't be worth a lot either, but at least it won't have unneccessary gaps ground into the various parts.
I would like to turn the Remington into an 03A4 clone. I have a decent bolt and may know the location of an M84 scope.
Are the Sarco scope mounts any good? I know the new Redfield mounts are supposed to be crap. Are these the same? Has anyone actually mounted and used one of these Sarco bases?
