    Underwood 2.9 million receiver ??

Here is the object of my issues this evening:

War Baby's presentation of the Underwood receiver's many varieties is unclear to me. According to my reading of Ruth, the empty bomb lacking subcontractor stamps (B, T, S, or W) when stamped was stamped on the heel only during "very early production". My bomb looks empty.

In addition, the last 4 digits of the serial are offset "lower" and appear impressed a bit heavier than the first 3. I've not seen this before. Is this normal manufacturing variance?

Help? I've exhausted my resources. Thank you for your comment.
