I have a Nagoya T38 that is in good shape. The wood has dings, but the barrel is fine and the markings are clear and not rubbed down (inspected with a watchmaker's exeglass). And yes, I have read the stickies and the linked information!
So I am absolutely as certain as I can be, without being literate in Japaneseicon, that the Kanji to the left of the number is the symbol for "6" (looks like a little stick man) and not the symbol for Series 27 or any other series. Furthermore there is a figure 6 to the right of the Nagoya mark after the number.

Can anyone explain this?
