    More Fulton odd sods

Here's a few odd/interesting bits on my smle fultons target rifle, ex RNZNavy. That awesome Queens cup smle posted below has answered a couple of questions I had, re strap and names, and now ... I have to look it over to see if that armorers name/mark is on this rifle as well.

    - There's this little white rack or personnal rifle number tucked away beside the trigger guard, I wonder if our other smle fulton in the thread below has something similar?

    - The brass disc, nicely done with R NZicon Navy, I wonder if any of our senior kiwi members have seen the Navy shooting competitively or if this was mainly for Navy only or interservice shoot ups?
    - The barrel appears to be stock no1 mk3 but has had the front milled off flush, I'd guess it used to say 'ball burnished'

    - This little brass end showing below the wood grain, I have finally learned, what it is for courtesy of the fulton smle post below. Inside the front guard is two or three extra springs bearing down on the barrel, in reaction they force the hand guard up and distort the wood. There should be a brass bolt through here and flat metal strap over the top of the guard to hold the wood down. On mine the stain is underneath and I'd guess the straps been incorrectly underneath for years and finally removed as no one could figure out what the hell it was doing there.

    - And finally there's the Regulated by Fulton stamp, right next to AG Parker. I'd thought this was parker hale and potentially a retail mark, but its actually the guys name, so I wonder if he or his shop made some extra tweaks on it.
I wonder, if, being Navy, they were able to request the best of the best, and had this accurized to order by both of the big names in the game?

*If anyone wants to see another Fulton enfield no1 mk3 that I've lusted after for a long time but its in the wrong country, is here, item 12231 at JoeSalter.com. There's a great photo profile there. There's a search box for the item numbers, otherwise its low down on the british rifles list.
ps if you do a general store wide search for enfield, it brings up a swathe of great enfield stuff.
