Pics of .22 rf converted Pattern 1914 Remington

Pictured are two .22 conversions. The Pattern 1914 has a double broad arrow S sale mark and has no commerical proofs to account for the .22 rf conversion. The barrel muzzle has no markings indicating the work was done by Parker Hale.

The bolt is deeply recessed to fit over and around an extended .22 caliber barrel insert, which forms an effective gas seal. The added benefit of the extended insert is to facilitate single loading of the .22 caliber cartridge. If the chamber entrance was left at the original position, it would be very difficult to load the rifle.

Whoever did the work did a beautiful job. I wish we knew who so we could give them credit.
