FYI I recently accuired a parts gun NM 1903 that had been originally converted to a Unertl mounted sniper in WW2 1526xx. The gracious Mr Beardicon was kind enough to offer a thumbs up on it`s originality via photographs . During the restroration I noticed the location of the receiver scope mounting block .. It is obvious ,,This rifle... Philly may have not been precise when drilling the receiver & barrel for the scope blocks . Eyeball ??? as long as it zeroed .??? Mine is one degree off to the left with the front mount being a slight cant to the right while the barrel & receiver witness marks are aligned .A similiar thread was offered on CSPicon about the scope blocks on a sniper rifle in Korea .The deceased returned rifle ..... Mine was a gun show find . No stock The holes were plugged .Had the scope block been on the receiver I may have passed thinking it was a Bubba job,,, Except for the serial numbered 2 hole blued NS bolt ... FYI They are still out there. Look closely .This show was a 250 table Shriners show . Thanks Merry Christmas to all . Lt1
