    that time of year again....

    Hi, folks!

Just wanted to say that I hope everyone had a fine, happy and safe Christmas with a Ross Rifle under every tree and a stocking filled with DI Mark VIIz Ball.

As I write this, the New Year has just come on several calendars but still is to come on a few others. The Winter Festival of Mithras, I am told, was a bunch of bull, but the dinner at the end of it was filling. Saturnalia still has a bit to run, given that you aren't completely tuckered out, then you can have a rest. After all those cute slave girls, you'll need it!

Where I am, at 50 North latitude, the days are perceptibly longer than just a few days ago. It is -25C right now, which is about 15 below on the Fahrenheit scale and, of course, it is blowing. It always blows here. The really nice thing, though, is the longer day. We can see it.

And you all know what that means: RANGE TIME COMING UP........ in just another 2 or 3 months. In the meantime, cleaning up Sniders and rebuilding a Pattern 1853 Enfield, loading some ammo for the Martinis..... and Carcanos.... and the Mannlicher Berthiers..... and the Mannlicher straight-pulls...... and the .50 Remington..... and my brother's Norski 12.11x44R..... and a monstrous pile of .303.

I do hope that your New Year will be as good as mine is promising to be!
