    The adjustables were in short supply at first

    apparently arriving in trickles. Winchester mixed sights a lot. Your best answer is to look at the staking or lack of it. If the adjustable was original, it will probably have just punch marks in the appropriate areas with no stake slashes nearby. My NPM has had the flip removed, it was marked with a line type stake mark and the new PI adjustable is marked/held with punch marks. Here is my Winchester with factory punch marks, no staking can bee seen. This carbine left the factory with this sight.
