I have one of the original conversion kits. As most familiar with this kit know, the orginal 'cork' (i think that what it was made of) buffer deteriorates over the years. I have heard of people fabricating a leather or other buffer--any ideas or experience woudl be helpful. An old post on this forum mentinoed a leather buffer but could use some more details on crafting.

Also, if anyone is interested in this piece as collectible, i'd be willing to negotiate a sale with it and start over with a contemporary version. Mine has at least 6 magazines and two or three of the 'skeletal' magazines

your assistance/advice is appreciated

John
