I held this one at a local show Serial XD12 I called JB Powers in Charlotte NC .As most of you know he was the original of four founding members . He stated XD12 was reported in 1980 to the C/B club.. Information also stated the Carbine was issued to Willim Scott .Detroit Mi Circa 1944..His position with Inland unknown . JB also related the carbine was a handstamp one I am addng the following 2011 update .The one was hand stamped a little off line like the 6 million guns The finish was Parkerized , Looked original with white chamber . Stock was a very fat straight grain beautiful walnut marked HI in the well .Owner stated he owned it 20+ years I did disasemble it & recorded the parts markings . Too much for this post .
A google search reveals Inland used the following serial #s for their presentation carbines . By Carl
XI 1-99
XA1-99
XC1-99
XD1-99 After about serial # 50 Inland XD presentations were marked M2
XE1-99 M2??? never seen one
The XD and XE were true presentation guns with fancy wood NONE of the presentations had high gloss blue
I post this info strickly for anyone interested . No dog in this hunt . Anyone interested in the parts markings send a PM . Lt1`Information
