Patrick,

I know you’ve been patiently requesting bore pictures. I finally got around to it.
Here’s my High-Tec Bore Illuminator. OK it’s just a Mag-Lite but it worked.

Right at the muzzle it appears that a steel cleaning rod has erased any signs of rifling exiting the bore.

If we look in a little deeper, it appears that the barrel was stuck in a bucket with water in it and rust formed at the water line.

Focus in close enough and it changes into the craters of the moon!!!

Surprisingly when I look down the barrel with my naked eye, it actually looks pretty good. Using +2.00 diopter reading glasses, it appears as a mild rough spot in otherwise smooth rifling.
For now I’m not going to worry about it. I’ll concentrate on correcting the front sight, my own sight and also do something about that horrendous trigger pull. If the accuracy is still unacceptable, then I’ll consider crowning or even back-boring (yuk!)but only if absolutely necessary.
