Finally got the new bolt from Springfield Sporters to replace the missing one on a Savage #4, Mk1* I with a 2 groove barrel I was given about a month ago. New bolt came with a #1 bolt head and headspaced okay as received.

This Savage is late enough in it's history that it only has the "L" backsight calibrated for 300 and 600 yards, so it shot a bit high at 100 but grouped tolerably using the Prvi Partisan 174 grain FMJ ammo that AIM Surplus had a while back.

Freebies usually aren't free and this one was no exception as I had to replace the bolt, magazine, front sight protector and the screw from the rear of the trigger guard. Total outlay $84 US for parts.

My 1948 Faz #4 Mk 1 is a bit more accurate, but this one's a keeper too.
