I’ve been increasingly fascinated with owning a correct/restored wartime Garandicon and finally pulled the trigger on a gunbroker deal a couple weeks ago. It came in recently, and near as I can tell is entirely correct except for maybe the hammer spring plunger w/o wings (may or may not really mean anything as I think they started using these in march of ’44). I need a good period sling to go with it, but otherwise I wouldn’t change a thing.

Wish I could know something about its history. Which theatre did it go to, who carried it, etc.
