Not sure whether this should be here or the equipment forum......

Does anoyone out in forumland have lurking in his box of bits a
SIGHT UNIT, 7.62mm Rifle, Mk1? It consists of a
TELESCOPE, Straight, sighting No74 Mk1 with a part number V5/1240-99-960-7269 probably engraved on the sight tube. The tube is about 8" long and about 1" dia.with a range and deflection drum halfway down on the top and left side. Mounted/clamped to a:
BRACKET which consists of a cover adapted to take the sight. The bracket part of the cover is very similar to the cover and base part of the old night sight cover and an:
EYEGUARD, detachable, No35 Mk1.

Came in a tight weave webbing pouch with shoulder strap

Provisionally authorised but never issued during the mid 60's with a view to selected L1A1's replacing the No4T following the fated L8 trials

Only ever seen one in my life, here at Warminster. Anyone else got one?
