I put an advertisement on a canadian board looking for an m94 carbine sporter, someone sent me photos of a rifle they have....

it has a stepped profile barrel, the serial lies between
"low Serial # 39600 - High Serial # 53615)"

the gun itself is rough, missing front and rear sights.

im just wondering if the stepped profile barrel is a sign meaning that its not a true m94.
