Hi all , New member here and new to collecting old military rifles , I have a few questions and pics to show ya if i can succesfully upload them.. I recently aquired a 1917 Lithgowmark 3 from a friend who just gave it to me .. the s/n on the bolt and on the receiver match ,
but ... what i dont understand is that the bolt looks like its from a newer rifle ... alot of the other pictures i see of the same style and year of rifle have a different shaped saftey more of a button shape to it on the end of the bolt... Any idea why this would be different ? and worth a restore? its been sporterized.. not sure if the parts alone with be worth it vs the value.. i know a few websites that sell parts for these rifles..
any input is fine as this was a gift to me I'm more curious about the safety on the bolt then anything .. the rifle is in fair to rough condition id say imo..
thanks
