Yes, I was a bit bored this weekend while we awaited the snow so I decided to rearrange my little area of heaven known as the basement. I had my safe too close to a wall and my ammo cans at floor level, so a long overdue intervention was in order. My grandmother always told me my eyes were bigger than my stomach when I contemplated how much spaghetti I was heaping on my plate and this project was similar. I had to unload the parts shelves and the safe, then move each each about 17 inches. The safe was close to a wall, so, feet on wall and back against the safe, extend legs and safe moves (slowly). Oh, oh, 4 inches short due to a file cabinet that then had to also be moved. I was building an ammo shelf to get the ammo out of cans (and for a correct inventory). I was about 50% into the build and decided an industrial shelf would be a better selection since 2x4s reduce usable space quickly. Off to Lowe's and then back to the project. Oh, oh, another few inches short on space. I decided to lift the safe off the floor and get it up on the 2x4s. Hands on top of safe, feet at base of wall and push, kick 2x4 underneath to the tipping point so I can get other boards under (I'm getting too old for this stuff). Safe is done and shelves are going up. Oh, oh, not enough shelves in the kit to do what I want. Off to Lowe's to buy another shelf. I used the extra shelf to supplement the two I had up and added five more shelves between the two. Now the project is shaping up and it's time to start the inventories. Magazines first, then ammo, then arms, then stocks. I did parts last year so they just went onto the shelves. I finally completed the job right when Kyle Busch (Boo) won the Shelby 427. Perfect timing as dinner was served too! Anyways, you can tell how bored I was but it is another project out-of-the way. I even found a couple parts I forgot I had, one being a repro keystone spring. So, what did you do this weekend?

The safe had to be emptied - a few didn't make this picture - and don't worry, no rifles were hurt during this project.

A nice find - I had a couple of these holed away in a box.

A little snow for the start of the week.

Winston the wonder dog enjoys the snow.
