Talked to my best friend in Poland today and she told me her husband called from Afghanistan and they had 5 soldiers killed by a roadside bomb.
Her husband Matt sent me a couple of emails today and like all professionals knows the dangers however you can read his sorrow between the lines.
There is NEVER a good time for this to happen but I honestly can't think of a worse time. The families of these brave men will never view Christmas the same again.
Meeting Matt this spring when they came to Canadafor their honeymoon makes his being there a constant source of worry for me. I hate it when I hear any Nato soldier looses their life and today for some reason it is just much more difficult. My friend was on patrol with a different group and he is safe, unfortunately five of his friends aren't and the grief their families are going thru now must be overwhelming.
Time for a prayer for those who have gave their lives and all who served and continue to serve to right the wrongs in this world.
Thursday is a National Day of Mourning in Poland, let us all in someway pay our respects.Information
