I mounted my No.32 Mk1 scope on my 1943 Longbranch. Unfortunately, I dont have the original mount or Pads ( or repros for that matter). I used the SK mount, which fits in where the rear sight axis Pin goes, and under the charger bridge.

Range tested at 100yds and the elevation was way too high. Could'nt get enough depression, so had to shim under the mount at the charger bridge with a piece of hacksaw blade.

Dialed both elevation and windage in bang on at 100yds. I managed a five round group in just over one inch. Very happy.

Took it out to 200yds. A slight L - R wind. Adjusted the elevation accordingly. Fired five rounds. All rounds hit 4 oclock just outside the black on an 8in bull, and inside about 2.5 - 3 inches. Adjusted windage by 2 clicks (4 mins) and the group moved to 9 oclock just outside the black. (Damn the windage is really coarse). Adjusted back one click and the rounds hit roughly where the first group was. I would put this down to the age of the scope and backlash due to wear in the windage spindle threads. Or maybe the SK mount is not up to the job?? Or maybe I just need more practice . Either way I am pretty happy. (even with the hacksaw blade shim). I should have brought a camera, as it would have made this post a little more interesting.
