    Questions on early Inland

My neighbor wants to sell his Inland M1icon , serial # 775,000. It has been in his family since right after WW2. It's pretty nice but the stock is ruined for collector value. Someone modded the oiler cutout. Would it be worth it to find a correct stock? Or just sell it as is? How hard is an early Inland stock to find?
    Thanks for any help,
    Greg
